Review: We-Vibe Wish

we-vibe wish clitoral vibe

“Who’s this adorable, little friend?” I say while opening up the box of the latest We-Vibe toy. The Wish had finally arrived at my doorstep after a couple of weeks of curiously anticipating its arrival. Dressed in the same packaging as its counterparts in We-Vibe’s line, it was nothing like any of other toys they had produced. I’ve often thought to myself: “I wonder what We-Vibe will do next.” because they seemed to have covered every vibrator base. They have internal, dual stimulation, couple specific, and bullet-like vibes, so what could be missing? This little Wish apparently.

The Wish has two motors and is rechargeable, 100% waterproof, made of silicone, and 2.6 inches wide x 1.6 inches thick x 1.4 inches tall. It’s broader than any of We-Vibe’s previous clit toys; its packaging boasts that it’s meant for broad sensations to stimulate the external and internal clitoris (and, yes, there is an internal clitoris.) I’m sure it could also be used on any body part externally as well, like to cup balls, or to curve against the perineum. The toy has 10+ vibration modes, as it connects to the We-Connect app, enabling users to create their own patterns.

The Wish is delightful in every part of it’s design. It’s shaped like a cute kawaii tear drop and coloured in a blue that makes me think of a mermaid lagoon. The silicone that blankets the Wish’s motors is so squishy that feels like the medium support pillow of the sex toy industry: has give but not too much.

When I first picked it up, I couldn’t help notice that the arch of the toy nuzzles perfectly to the curvature of a palm, like a computer mouse waiting to be clicked. With this in mind, I tried using the Wish as an extension of myself through my palm. I placed my hand down the backside and rubbed the whole toy up and down my vulva.  The designers *must* have made it for those who like to rub their vulvas with the full extent of their mitts. I don’t normally masturbate that way, so my experiment was slightly dulled by the fact that I wasn’t able to come. However, I think it was due to a something else, as I wasn’t able to come holding it still to my vulva (pinpointed or flat.)

Within those 10+ vibrations, the Wish has a new feature called PowerPulse™, which has taken the place of the standard three vibration modes most vibrators have. Instead of the usual Low, Medium and High, We-Vibe added have PowerPulse™ Low, Medium, and High. And what’s the difference? Well, I wasn’t really sure, until I got to turn on the toy. When this setting is on, the two motors work simultaneously, but to different beats. It feels like the vibrations are being quickly juggled between each motor. Explanations aside, it feels like any old pattern. And as someone who regularly gets off to consistent speeds, I had trouble coming with the Wish. The only times I was able to reach orgasm when was I was in the freestyle section of the app, as I can make consistent speeds through there. All of the vibration patterns, including the new PowerPulse™ feature, are rumbly to the core so if you’re a fan of patterned vibes, this could be a good option for you.

I like soooooo many qualities that the Wish has. It has a nicely thought out design for people who like broader stimulation, it’s uber adorable, and it has rumbly vibrations. Unfortunately, I needed to use the app to create a consistent speed before I was able to draw and orgasm out of myself. For those who are like me and need no patterns, I would recommend the Tango or the Magic Wand Rechargeable. However, the Wish could potentially be a win for people who want to try a different shaped clitoral vibrator, and for those who are pattern fanatics. I personally think that it *must* be a good fit for someone’s body out there. Kudos to We-Vibe for thinking outside the box (literally) with the Wish.
